A native of White Plains, NY, Mr. Romano was a son of the late Joseph Frank Romano Sr. and Rachelle Rogliano Romano. He retired as a teacher with Rutland Academy in Athens. Mr. Romano was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of American Legion Post 163.
Survivors include children, Laura Dixon (Mark) of Lenoir City, TN, Rachel Dickens (Kevin) of Mounds, OK and Joey Romano of Athens; brother, Charlie Romano (Karen) of Marietta; sisters, Lillian Stankunas (Ed) of Plano, TX and Roberta Hanlon (Mike) of Cumming; eight grandchildren, Michelle Dixon, Ashley Dixon, Jessica Tufts, Michael Dickens, Tylr Romano, Koleton Dickens, Megan Dickens and Jeweleah Dickens; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
