James Edward Hyatt

Mr. Hyatt was a native of Toronto, Canada, born April 22, 1933 to Florence Ada and Leslie Hyatt. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Byrd Nixon Hyatt; daughters, Kathy Hyatt and Dr. Christine Torres (Pete); stepsons, Johnny Nixon (Melissa), Gene Nixon (Cindy), Benny Nixon (Jan); daughter-in-law, Susan Hyatt; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael James Leslie Hyatt.

He was a member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church, Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge 22, Athens Order of the Eastern Star 268 and Athens Moose 767.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 6 from 1-2 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home with services to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge 22 and the Athens Order of the Eastern Star 268 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
