Betsy Brown Brewer

Betsy was born in Colbert to the late Henry Jackson and Nettie McCarty Brown and was the oldest of 10 children. She started her career in retail, later working a stint on stage with NBC-TV, before moving back to retail and finishing her career working in accounts payable and receivable.

Betsy was a loving mother who enjoyed gardening and retired to the beach in Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Morris Brewer Jr.; sisters, Linda Moore, Judy Matthews, and Martha Bell; and brothers, James Brown, Jack Brown and Richard Brown.

Betsy is survived by children, Archibald Dennison Scott IV of Algonquin, IL, Linda Suzanne Scott of Corona Del Mar, CA and Michael Timothy Scott of Douglasville; brother, Leon Brown of Colbert; and sisters, Carol Brown Walsh of Pompano Beach, FL and Peggy Brown Logan of Winder; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home immediately followed by the funeral service in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
