Amarachi was born December 10, 1989 in Tallahassee, Florida. She was the daughter of Raymond and Anthonia Ndukwu Anukam.
Amarachi loved reading and traveling. She loved helping people, and would volunteer at many different places. Amarachi earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Georgia, and earned her MD from the Medical College of Georgia in May 2019. Afterwards, she began her internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Survivors include her parents, Raymond and Anthonia “Toni” Anukam; four brothers, Chima Anukam, Osi Anukam, Chika Anukam and Uzo Anukam; two uncles, Cleophas Anukam and wife Chinyere, and Benneth Ndukwu and wife Ngozi.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (958 Epps Bridge Pkwy, Athens, GA 30606). Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park (3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606). There will be repast at the funeral home following the burial.
