Wesley William Dempsey

Wesley, also called “Fish” was born on September 7, 1997 to Jody Dempsey and Lisa Lawrence Dempsey.

His mother, Lisa Dempsey, precedes him in death, as well as his brother, Jody Cassidy Dempsey, and his grandparents, Ricky and Lois Dempsey. Three cousins, LeShawna Powell, Thunder Dempsey, and Tina Ann Dempsey Nguyen also precede him in death.

Wesley graduated from Ardmore High School. He participated in archery at Johnson Elementary, and his father coached him in baseball in the Little League World Series.

Survivors include his father, Jody E. Dempsey; his stepmother, April Dempsey; one brother, Cody Dempsey; one sister, Tessa Dempsey; his grandparents, Mable and Tom Hamrick; his nephew, Elijah Dempsey; and his godparents, Melissa and Kevin Harrell.

The funeral service will be Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Kevin Harrell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Burial will be at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery on East Limestone Road.

Pallbearers will be Cody Dempsey, Joseph Dempsey, Tessa Dempsey, Jordan Brooks, Jacob Smith, Justin Powell, and Jeremy Gilliam.
