Virginia B. Powers

Visitation will be Saturday January 2, 2016 from 12-1:15 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Virginia was born February 23, 1922 to Jack and Retha White. She lived in Limestone County, Alabama most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ardmore, Alabama. She loved going to church, gardening, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great grandchild.

She was beloved by her family, who were fond of spending time visiting with her and enjoying her home-cooked meals.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Retha White and her husband Alton Powers.

She is survived by son Marion Powers of Athens, AL; daughter-in-law George Ellen Powers of Tuscaloosa, AL; her daughter Sharon Peek and husband Sherman of Keller, TX; grandchildren Yvette Johnson and husband Eddie of Tuscaloosa, AL; Stephanie Bailey and husband Bart of Gulf Shores, AL; Alton Powers and wife Cindy of Huntsville, AL; Mark Powers and wife Kelli of Huntsville, AL; Jordan Peek of Keller, TX; and Emily Peek of Denton, TX. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren Mason Johnson, Forest Johnson, Madison Johnson, Tiffany Bailey, Mitch Bailey, Tatum Bailey, Mary Marlowe Bailey, Sydney Powers, Mark Allen Powers and one great- great grandchild Fallon Bailey.

Pallbearers will be Alton Powers, Mark Powers, Jordan Peek, Mason Johnson, Forest Johnson, Mitch Bailey, and Mark Allen Powers.
