Ollis Houston Brown

The graveside service is noon Friday, June 12, at Roselawn Cemetery with Keith Turberville officiating. Visitation is 10-11:45 a.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown was born May 5, 1923, in Birmingham to Calvin and Sara Elizabeth Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Cameron Brown; five brothers, Arthur, Frank, Fred, Bill and Ellis Brown; two sisters, Eva Taft and Sarah Browles.

He retired from the U.S. post office. He was a member of the church of Christ. He also retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include one son, Daniel B. Brown of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Linda Brown Barnett of Las Vegas, and Debbie Brown Owens of Athens; seven grandchildren, Scott Beavers, Matthew Sherlin, Aimee Sherlin, Dan Brown, Michelle Brown, Kyle Owens and Kent Owens; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Owens, Kyle Owens, Kent Owens, Scott Beavers, Matthew Sherlin and Dan Brown.
