Oleta S Mcconnell

Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following. Autry Hudson will be sharing words of comfort and remembering Oleta’s life.

Pallbearers will be Chris Reeves, Brian Hudson, Patrick Neill, Ray McConnell, Bob McConnell, Jamie Cole, and Skylar Swearinger.

Oleta was born July 10, 1929 to Arch and Maude Shelton of the Goodsprings area. She trusted Jesus at a young age and was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens. Her joy was her children, and especially her grands and great-grandchildren.

Oleta is preceded in death by her parents Arch and Maude Shelton, one sister Clessie Ruth Shelton, two brothers Edwin Shelton and Austin Shelton.

She is survived by her children Becky Hudson (Autry) of Athens, AL; Connie Reeves of Courtland, AL; Bob McConnell of Athens, AL; and Ray McConnell (Donna) of Decatur, AL; grandchildren Chris Reeves, Brian Hudson (Belinda), Shannon Neill (Patrick), Rebecca Yarbrough, Natasha Scott, great-grandchildren Caroline Hudson, Cassidy Hudson, Josie Hudson, Ashton Neill, Brennan Neill, Skylar Swearinger, Natalie Swearinger, and Coy Yarbrough, sister in law Eloise Shelton and several nieces and nephews.
