David “Brian” Middleton passed away at Twin Cities Hospital in Templeton, CA on July 17, 2024, after he fell. He was born the youngest of 5 children in Greeley, Colorado November 14, 1960. The family of five lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and on the Central Coast, CA growing up.
His family moved to Guam and lived there for several years. He graduated from JFK high school in Tamuning, Guam. He met and married his wife, Marie, and had a son, Jaron. He served in the Air Force as an Avionics Technician. He worked on airplanes like the F-16 Falcon, F-15 Eagle and the F-117. He was honorably discharged on medical leave and lived in Salinas, California for a time.
He lived in Cedar City, Utah for several years where he attended Southern Utah University and graduated with a BA in Public Relations. His daughter, Ayla, was born there. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He also liked to write songs and poems. In Cedar City he was baptized and was active in church. He also loved to attend and participate in the annual Renaissance Festivals. He liked playing the role of court jester.
Later in life he moved to Atascadero, California to be with his parents. He was very proud of buying his home with the help of a VA loan. He lived there until his passing. He met his longtime girlfriend, Clara, on a trip to Columbia. He was able to visit her and her son, Gabriel, a few times and enjoyed talking with her daily in his later years.
He loved animals and adopted both dogs and cats from the humane society. He even volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center on the Central Coast.
He loved Sci-fi and Marvel movies. Some of his favorites were Godzilla, Thor, Star Trek and Dr. Who. He liked to share his love of these genres with family and friends.
Brian enjoyed family and loved spending time with them. He liked to help others in need. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernal and Beverly Middleton, and his brothers William and Randy Middleton. He is survived by his son, Jaron Middleton (Malerie) and Ayla Mitchell (Liam), grandchildren Zela, Kairi, Yuna, Wiley and Fallon, sisters Suzan Estrada (Ernie) and Patsy Dow (Larry), sisters-in-law Evelyn Middleton and Patricia Middleton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
