Daniel Eugene Messer Daniel "Danny" Eugene Messer went to his Lord on March 6, 2018, after a short battle with cancer. Danny's amazing faith in Jesus showed his strength and lack of fear during the last days on earth. Danny was born on May 24, 1957, in Atascadero and graduated Atascadero High School in 1975. He has many, many lifelong friends. Danny had a lifelong career in the construction industry. His success and skill level led him to be a steel studs foreman for many different large construction companys. Danny's hobbies included being an avid Harley Davidson rider. He recently rode across the U.S. and back and many treks in between. He enjoyed hunting since a boy and had too many memories to count at Pozo Deer Camp with his Pozo family. He was actively involved with his daughter's softball teams, as both were awesome pitchers for Atascadero High School. He cherished his prized possession, a beautiful blue classic Firebird he inherited from his father. Danny was blessed with sobriety for the last 14 years. Danny is survived by his wife, Pamela Messer; daughters: Vanessa Lei Messer Buckley and husband Jerad, and Heather Dawn Messer Schroeder and husband Chris. He was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Tipton Buckley; his stepchildren: Amanda Davis and Jessie Davis; three sisters: Lori Messer Filipponi, Vicci Messer and Randi Messer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, H. Daniel Messer and Margie Messer. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 23, 2018, at the first Assembly of God, 5545 Ardilla Road, Atascadero.
