William Edward Tuttle

William Edward Tuttle, 84, of Bumpass, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris Greene Tuttle; devoted father of Kimberly Tuttle Socha; cherished grandfather of Nicholas Arthur Margaros and Jack Edward Margaros; and an extra special sister-in-law, Carolyn Snelson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Louise Tuttle, brother Jimmy Tuttle, and sister Doris Walker. Ed enjoyed being at home, working in the yard, landscaping, woodworking, playing his guitar, country and Western music, and dancing. He was owner of Ed's Convenience Store for over 30 years and felt blessed to have been a part of the community making so many wonderful friends. His greatest passion was his family. At family gatherings, or sitting outside under the tree, he loved to share family history and instill the values of life in his grandsons. Relatives and friends are invited to Ed’s visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 at the Tuttle Family Cemetery, 17340 Belsches Rd., Bumpass, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sharon Christian Church, P.O. Box 141 Bumpass, VA 23024.
