Melissa Leigh Brickey

Melissa Leigh Luck Brickey, 43, of Glen Allen, VA passed away on January 9, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Russell C. Brickey, Sr., two sons, Russell C. Brickey, Jr. (21) and Riley Cole Brickey (10) of the home. Also surviving are her mother, Cheryl West and brother, Charles G. Luck (Michelle) of Beaverdam, VA and father, Charles W. Luck (Sue) of Richmond. Melissa is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved dearly. Her longtime close best friend, Val Barkley, stood by her throughout her life journey. Melissa never met a stranger and her smile and generosity were her most outstanding traits. She was a 15 year dedicated employee of Patient First and also served on the Board of Directors for The Arc of Hanover, Inc. for several years as secretary to advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities which was close to her heart. Visitation will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home in Ashland, VA on Friday, February 9 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 10 at 2 PM at Nelsen’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice. As Melissa would say, “Life goes by quickly, just be happy.”
