Mary was born on October 6, 1932 in Merriam, Illinois. She was the daughter of Roy and Fairel (Wilson) Scott. She retired from Diamondite Products in Shreve from the sales department. She later obtained her real estate license in Wooster. She moved to Florida and spent her retirement as a live in nurse. She attended Mt. Zion Church of God in Wooster, Ohio. Mary also attended a Church of God congregation in West Palm, Florida. While attending there, she traveled to Jamaica to do missionary and relief work.
Mary is survived by her son, Fredrick (Laura) Acord; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Joyce (Don) Hornoff and Leslie Acord; and her siblings, Bobby Dean, Sue, Dellos, and Jerry Scott and Sharon Smith-McGill.
Family will receive guests from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ashland, 308 Claremont Ave. Pastor Ben Crouch will officiate funeral services following at 2:00 pm. Mary will be laid to rest in Lake Worth Memory Gardens in Lake Worth, Florida.
