Marie Lynn Schryver

She graduated from Trinity College in 1963 and moved back to the DC area in 1987. Because of her love of books and reading, she returned to school and got her Masters in Library Science from James Madison University and worked for Fairfax County Public Schools for over 20 years.

Marie loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading and cooking. Her baked treats were appreciated by all who were lucky to receive them. Marie’s greatest loves were her husband of 50 years, David George Schryver, Sr. (died November 19, 2015) and her seven grandchildren, Nana was her favorite title.

In May of 2022, Marie moved to the Jefferson and fell in love with the community and all the activities, especially trivia.

Marie is survived by her three children: David George Schryver, Jr (Ursula), Meg Schryver (Jay Stanley) and Jeanne Turbow (Darren), and her seven grandchildren Ben, Jack and Lucy Stanley, Elijah and Sasha Turbow and Will and Colin Schryver as well as a large extended family.

A graveside service for Marie will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201. Following the graveside service will be a memorial service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Jefferson, 900 N Taylor St, Arlington, VA 22203.
