Margaretha Johanna Kovacic

Margaretha ‘‘Margaret“ J. Kovacic was born in Vienna, Austria, on 1/2/1915 and passed away on February 3, 2017, at the age of 102. She was the daughter of Teresija Macek and Johann Stremer. She grew up in Solvenia, where she met her future husband Marijan Kovacic, who was career U. S. Army. She had lived in Arlington, VA since 1965.

Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was a tremendous role model; exhibiting strength, kindness and respect for all. Her Austrian/Slovenian heritage was instrumental in making her a fabulous cook. Her Sunday night dinners will never be forgotten.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Marijan. She is survived by her son Anton Lamplot, of Arlington, VA; daughter Marija Morris and husband Wayne, of Manassas, VA; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah.

The family will receive friends on February 21, 2017 from 5 until 6 P.M. followed by a memorial service at Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery with the date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org).
