William Clifford Steele

Cliff was born July 20, 1925, in Kleburg, TX to Mary Lue Parrish Brown and spent most of his life in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. He attended Adamson High School and was a member of the Leopard football team and the R.O.T.C.

In 1943, Cliff joined the Navy and spent his military career aboard the USS Finch where he rose to the rank of Electrician’s Mate, 2nd Class. He served in the European, Pacific and Mediterranean Theaters. In 2013 he had the privilege of being one of the members of the 11th Honor Flight DFW trip to Washington D. C.

Cliff married the love of his life, Jerry Grigsby, in 1947 and was a devoted husband for 70 years until her passing in 2018.

Mr. Steele is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Debbie Steele; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Robbyn Steele; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Gary Persichini; grandchildren, Stefanie Galchutt (Joshua), Britni Gooch (Chelsea), Taylor Steele (Merrick), Grady Steele, Sara Steele, Brandon Foreman (Gillian), Daniel Foreman; great-grandchildren, Tayven, Jenna, Zanden, Lilly, Kenisen, Aubrey, Caleb, Andrew, Jude and Ewan.
