Visitation: Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral Service: Friday, August 4, 2017 at 1 PM at First Baptist Church – Arlington. Interment to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Virginia was born in Terrell, Texas to Vivian Mae Pankey and Raymond H. Stiles on August 18, 1925.
She married John Joseph Walker June 22, 1947 in Kaufman, Texas.
Virginia and John were married for 62 years prior to his death, living in Fort Worth during most of that time. She recently moved to Arlington. Virginia taught Bible classes for 75 years, from the time she was 16 until 3 weeks before her death. Her last class, the Grace class at First Baptist Church, Arlington, was very precious to her. Her loving involvement in church work included serving on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas for 6 years and serving as Tarrant Baptist Association G.A. Director for 3 years, in addition to long service as G.A. Director at Polytechnic Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
Virginia graduated with a BBA from Baylor University, where she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity, in 1946. She taught school in Lovington, New Mexico and substituted in the FWISD for 12 years. Following retirement, Virginia and John traveled the world, visiting 68 countries on 6 continents.
Virginia was preceded in death by husband John, and son, Stephen John Walker.
Survivors: Daughters, Carol Crumpton and husband Tommy, and Nina Ronalder and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Trey Crumpton and wife, Ashley, Tim Crumpton and wife, Carie, Katrina Weiss and husband, Alex, Chris Ronalder and wife, Brenna, and Nick Ronalder and wife, Jordan; great grandchildren, Benjamin Crumpton, Brooklyn Crumpton, and Nora Crumpton, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial's may be made to Mission Arlington.
