I've know Tim since school. He was good friends with my brother Marty and my sister in law Debbie.   Due to a twist of fate, we are connected thru my nieces Jessica and Rachael. He loved them dearly and is part if our family. I spoke with Tim many times over the last 7 years, trading stories of school, the twins, their kids, and how much life had changed us, and how many friends we had lost . However, He was so happy with his life with Sally and his family. .  The majority of our conversations were online,  and I'm so very glad we reconnected.   My post is not of any particular  incident, just of his character. He was a funny, good ,and decent person,  and he will be missed by all of us. His friends, his family, and I'm sure the people he worked with.  Our lives will be sadder for Tim's absence!

I love you Uncle Tim. I’ll always cherish every time we crossed paths on the road. You’re perspective on life was enviable. From Dallas to Denver to Indy, just being able to grab some Bob Evans breakfast or hangout at the airport during a layover just felt... cool. I’ll miss you. You were deeply loved by many people. We will all miss your ‘likes’.

A lifelong friend died this morning.  

Tim Baraw and I met when we were barely 7 years old.  We grew up living right next door to each other.  

We did the typical “boy” stuff: climbing trees, walking stone walls, catching salamanders and small snakes to, you know, show our moms, and participated in other spirited adventures best left to the imagination since decorum prevents any recounting here. 

There was never a point we weren’t friends, but life put us on different paths around the time we entered high school.  Both of us left CT around the same time and lived in different parts of the country for the next 30 years or so. 

There were just a handful of times we crossed paths in CT that either of us could recall, but those chance encounters revealed that time and distance evidenced no change in our relationship.

We laughed, joked, and told stories. 

In 2010 I was on an engagement in Denver and - through the miracle of Facebook - I learned he was in Vail on a construction project.  I don’t think we’d seen each other in 20 years or so, but we got together. 

We laughed, joked, told stories, and checked each other’s prostate.  As men do. 

(I had to include that on the off-chance there is a hereafter - and it had Facebook access.  It would make Tim giggle).

In the ensuing years our jobs afforded us more opportunities to laugh, joke, and hit pedestrians in well-marked crosswalks. We were fortunate that our wives could meet and commiserate on the misfortune of marrying world-class wiseassses.

Tim and I delighted in hearing their complaints and piously promising to do better.  That was a pretty good day. 

Days with Tim were always pretty good days.

When Tim got sick, I visited him at his home in Texas.  A few months later I saw him at his mom’s house in Vermont. 

Tim has left this world but he’ll never leave me. He was a generous, kind, and decent man and I will miss him for the rest of my days.

Today I lost someone that I loved. Tim Baraw or as I called him Baraw and I went to school together. He was my brother from another mother. When I worked for my dad, I asked my dad to give him a job and after meeting Baraw he gave him a job. I remember being at the fish market working with him. My dad, on Tim’s recommendation gave Marty Young a job too. They used to drive back an forth with my dad, educating him on the ways of dating multiple women and how to keep the women from knowing about the others and about the other things they were into. My dad called him Baraw and that is how I will always remember him. Baraw. My brother. My heart is broken today but I’m sure daddy is there to tell him how things are done “up there”. Mom Baraw, Sally Sharp Kanesky Baraw and the rest of the Baraw clan, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Baraw. I’ll love you forever. Till we meet again............

❤️If I could wake up tomorrow and all our yesterdays were our future what a magnificent world this would be. Waking up in your arms, you calling me Honey Bunny would make all my tomorrow’s better. Now I have to live with the memories, luckily so many beautiful ones, of what we shared. So proud of you, rejoice full in the fact that you were such a wonderful man, even my kids took to you right from the beginning. You made the world a better place and it appears you touched many hearts. I don’t know what or why I was the one who captured your heart but I will forever be thankful I did. Words can’t sum up what Tim meant to people and who he was. I think what I will remember most about him is his smile and sense of humor. He had a way of brightening up the dreariest day with just a few words. He was a good friend to our family and a great grandfather to my nephews. His life will forever be intertwined with ours. The world shed a tear when he passed. 

Tim was one of the good guys. Taken way too soon.  The love for his wife, mother and family will always be with them.  My sincere condolences to all his family. 
I enjoyed all his Facebook posts.  He is missed by so many. 

I never knew Tim personally but I knew his sister and became friends with Tim on facebook. 
I wanted to share a story about him because even though we did not personally know each other there was this one time he reached out to me without judgment when most people were sick of me.
I do not personally have a problem flying, that being said it apparently did not mean that I wasn't terrified of my son flying without me.
I would post about irrational fear and even though he traveled often and probably thpught I was ridiculous he was one of the VERY few who reached out when I knew my son was in the air and I was so full of anxiety I could barely breathe.
He messaged me and was so kind and patient.  Very empathetic and lovely and calm with his words.  I was at work and consumed but for some reason, he truly brought so much calm to me. Not an easy task for anyone!! But he did. I was able to calm down and relax and I will NEVER forget his kindness given to me, a panicked stricken mom in such a way that he did. He didn't laugh at me, he didn't think I was ridiculous- he simply offered kind words and reminded me how safe my son probably was. And he was.
Tim, I truly wish I could have met you in person because I would have given you the biggest hug.

I did not know Tim or Sally too well, but had the chance to meet them face to face a few summers ago. They are truly wonderful people. I was blown away at how much they paid attention to pictures and posts of my children. It made me feel like we were much closer than we are. They are such genuine people. Heaven gained a beautiful angel! 

Tim was a friend. Business brought him to Midland Tx, and an online friendship morphed to one in real life. A good man. 


My Brother.  We had many life long memories.  There were good times  and a few mischievous ones, you were always there for me.  When we meet again we will continue where we left off.  You will forever be in our hearts.  We will miss you, rest in peace, Timmy!

I loved visiting you and grandma in Texas I had so much fun and learned so much about you guys and felt so much love and wish I could have done it over again a million times , I wish you could have come to mine and joes graduation but we understand we all love you so much

Every year, at the end of our visit I would feel the time went by too fast...how true that feels now.   

There are many things I could write here that are wonderful memories or funny stories...however, what I truly will be forever grateful for is the love and happiness you gave to my Mother.  

Often we read how a parent wishes love and happiness for their children, but children also wish this for their parents.  

Knowing my Mom found a true soul mate in you and hearing her say you were the love of her life is a happiness I hold dearly in my heart.  

Although the time was too short, the ever lasting love is cherished by all of us, your Family.  We love you and are grateful to have called you Ours. 

Tim, thank you for being one of the good guys. I always looked forward to what you were cooking at the get togethers  and I’ll remember those times with a smile. I’m grateful you’re at peace now.

I am so sad that I only met Tim and Sally a couple years ago.  It has been a pleasure reading all his past posts on Facebook.   I was hoping for a long friendship.  Losing someone you love is difficult; but we must go on until it is our time to leave this earth..then I hope to see everyone in Heaven...you are missed, Tim.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Tim, but Knowing Sally for many years back to her teenage years when she was my Sisters neighbor I know Tim was a good kind and loving husband father and grandfather. You could feel the love between Tim and Sally even through Facebook. I'm so glad we reconnected.My love to you all 💗

The family reunion was such a great time, it was nice to finally meet family that I otherwise wouldn’t have ever had a chance to meet, Tim was one of those. With such a kind heart and contagious smile he will truly be missed. All my love.

Tim you will be sorely missed.  The first time we met Tim was at Sherri & Tom's wedding.  We could see then that he was head over heels in love with Sally.   Tim was ever the jokester...he would start and then we would be drawn in until Sally would give him "the look" and say "TIMOTHY" ...he would say "yes dear" and just keep up the shenanigans ...it was a riot!  Tim had to leave us because GOD needed his sense of humor.   He was generous, kind, funny, AND most of all he loved his honey bunny (Sally) with his whole heart and soul.  He fought the good fight until it was time to go...as he leaves behind many brokenhearted family and friends...we need to remember he is no longer in any pain and he is keeping the angels lahghing. Over the past 2 weeks I sat with you and held your hand but I could not find the proper time to say to you anything beyond ~ I Love You ~ 

You have been an amazing father.  You provided me strength, courage and promise through my brightest days and my darkest of days.  
From the death of my father to the death of Kevin, you were there for me.  ~ I'm looking to you now for the same strength, I just know it will be in a different form than I'm used to.

There were no rules that said you had to.  Even obligation does not bring acceptance or love ~ that alone comes from character and heart.

Though short lived in Connecticut, it was long enough to form strong connections & forever memories. I believe it's quality that matters & not quantity. 
Proof being in the story I repeat often in how our family here was reminiscing those memories & wondering what ever happened to you & your family. We wondered if any of you ever wondered what happened to us the way we did all of you. Lol A few short weeks later you friend requested me on Facebook. Just goes to show the bond & how life goes full circle. Loved seeing Bonnie & your mom here & later you! Although we didn't see you much, know that we love you, the connection will never be broken,  & will miss you! Till we round that circle once more, & we meet again my friend. So many years and so many memories will always be in my heart for my Cuz Tim.  He will be missed.

Tim as a  young boy was a neighbor of mine. His mom Darlene and I became good friends. We raised our kids together on Mary Lane in Vernon. Our two yards became one big yard that all the Baraw and Lupacchino children played in. Swing sets and my husband Dom build a sand box for they all to play in and the two moms played badminton. Tim you will be missed and in my heart forever. I can picture you in the yard. Also , so glad you came to see us here in Delaware. 

I met Tim once. A long time ago. He seemed like a great guy. And he loved my best friend Sally. That was all that mattered. 
Time flew by....... Years for that matter. 
Tim is now at peace. No more pain. No more suffering.
May he rest in peace.... 

Tim, you were always there when I was alone! Thanks for being a friend, a great uncle and a great brother in law that was more a brother! I will always cherish  all the great memories!

I went to high school with Tim.  While I wasn't very close with him, I always knew him to be a stand-up guy. We all had lost contact until FB.  Tim fought a valiant fight against a terrible monster. No more pain or suffering. RIP TIM.

Tim joined the Big D Metalworks team in 2009, a mutual friend from Florida introduced us.
Tim was responsible for much of our field operations which keep him on the road much of the time.
Several of the more notable places he spent a lot of time were Vail, CO.  Washington, DC.  Indianapolis, IN and Austin, Texas.  If you know Tim, I am sure he spoke in great detail of some of his experiences in these various locations.  He approached his work like I believe he approach his relationships, engaging and with a sense of humor.  If I were asked to describe Tim in just a few words, I would say he was a man of his word and lived his life with a code of honor that compelled other to trust him. 
Over the years, Tim took hundreds of project photos, he was pictured in none of them, which I think speaks to his sense of humility. The finial project Tim worked on included beautiful stairway in which Tim was instrumental in installing (he also took the photo),  I would like to call it  “Tim’s Ascension Stairway”.  RIP Tim, you are missed!


After losing track of each other in our teen years, Tim and I reconnected on Facebook about five years ago, and found we shared many interests and opinions - and of course - lots and lots of family.  I will miss Tim's sense of humor and sharing old family stories.

My wife, Dee, and I pray for God's grace to comfort Sally and Tim's extended family in this sad time.

Rest In Peace Tim, you will be missed, but forever in our hearts and memories. I will always remember his visits with Sally to Salem Lake Camp and the fireworks Andy and him set off from the old row boat out on the water. I thought that was the best time ever. We will miss you! 

Never met Tim, but always read his Posts on Facebook and we  commented back and forth throughout the years.  Sally was a school mate of mine growing up, and was happy for her as you could tell how much she was in love with Tim.  My prayers and love go out to you Sally and for the family----prayers for comfort and peace.   Much love dottie

 My uncle Tim was a very  special man. He was so full of love and tenderness for his family and especially his honey bunny! The grieving process is so hard for those that are left behind and it is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye. My uncle Tim is no longer suffering and we take comfort in knowing that.   We all have our wonderful and special memories of the times we spent with him and I personally will hold them dearly in my heart!  Rest in peace Uncle  Tim and know that your family loved you dearly!

We met  on Facebook never met in present but the friendship that we shared Tim,Sally and I were special. We commented about kids and dogs. Laugh watching Duke grow.
