Susan K. Smith

Susan Smith, age 76, left this earthly home on Sunday, June 18, 2023 in Arlington, Texas. She was born on January 31, 1947 in Highland Park, Michigan to Douglas Ray and Margaret Jane (Poe) Jane Flanagan. Susie was raised in Livonia, Michigan; she eventually met and married the love of her life Robert Bruce Smith in 1982 and they had 27 wonderful years together before his passing in 2009. In her free time Susie enjoyed stamp collecting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and crafting. Susie absolutely loved eating at Chik-fil-A and adored the employees at her local store. Her family and friends will always remember her as a God loving prayer warrior, a welcoming and caring friend, with a wonderful sense of humor. Susie remained “feisty” during her battle with cancer and trusting in the Lord.

She is preceded in death by, her beloved husband, Robert Bruce Smith; parents, Douglas Ray Flanagan and Margaret Jane Flanagan; nephew, Mathew David Flanagan; and niece, Sharon Ellen Flanagan.

Left to cherish Susie’s memory, brothers, Douglas Ray Flanagan Jr. and wife Mary, David Edwin Flanagan and wife Carrie, Jeffrey Robert Flanagan, Richard Brian Flanagan and wife Kelly; sister, Julie Ann Flanagan; along with many nieces and nephews.
