Steven Gerald Shaw

Born in Dallas on September 4, 1946 to Barnie Jonas Shaw and Virginia Louise Akers Shaw, Steven graduated from Kimball High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was married to Peggy Ann Shaw on July 29, 1978.

Steven began working for Otis Elevator in 1969. During his 33 year career he took pride in his work--from his first position as a sales rep in New Orleans to being Regional District Manager of the Southwest Region. He retired at age 55 to pursue his life long passion for golf. His creativity, attention to detail, and industrious nature are immortalized in the beautiful furniture he built for his children, the attic he converted into an amazing model train room and in the landscaping he designed for his & Peggy’s home

Steven was preceded in death by son, Steven Gerald Shaw II, and brother, Kenneth Shaw.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; brother and sister in law, Ronald & Evelyn Shaw of Dallas; daughter & son in law, Sonya Shaw & Bret Ellerton of Seattle; daughter in law, Danielle Shaw of Erie, CO; son & daughter in law, Grant & Andrea Neel of Carrollton; son & daughter in law, Ron & Teresa Hall of San Diego; grandchildren: Cyan & Soleil Shaw and Madison & Gavin Neel; sister in laws, Pat Penrod & Pam Thompson; and nieces & nephews: Stephanie Shaw & Ken Chang, Logan Shaw, Jan Rekemeyer & Marc Helmer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 24th, in the South Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis Drive Arlington, Texas 76012 (817) 275.2711.
