Shirlene Steen

She was born in Muleshoe, TX on November 7, 1932 and grew up in Handley where she attended Handley High School. Shirlene married Glenn Steen on June 10, 1950 and they moved to Arlington in 1953.

Shirlene’s greatest joys in life were her 5 children, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She never let one of them leave without saying to them, “I love you more”. She also enjoyed cake decorating, gardening and spending time with her dear friends at Mayfield Road Baptist Church. She was well loved by all who knew her, and everyone was welcome in her home for a meal and a hug.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Glenn Steen; parents, Dan and Thelma Blair; brothers Allen and Doyle Blair and her precious first grandson Cole Billingsley. She is survived by her children Sharon Garner and husband Vernon; Ricky Steen; Glenda Gandy and husband George; Teresa Corbet and husband Joe; Lisa McElvoy and husband Jerry. Grandchildren Cari Ferrell and husband Matt, Christy Garner, Corey Motley and Clint Gandy; great grandchildren Parker, Pierce and Garrett Ferrell and Macey and Jordan Hampton, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be Sunday April 10, 2016 from 5-7 pm. Funeral service 10 am Monday, April 11, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Steen, Nathan Steen, Royce Meyer, Clint Gandy, Corey Motley and Daniel Blair.
