Robin Craig Thomas

April 29, 1945 – August 16, 2023

Robin passed away peacefully with his wife and children holding his hands. He had suffered years from dementia, originally diagnosed as Alzheimer’s disease; recently re- diagnosed as Lewy Bodies. He did not recover from a recent fall and hip surgery.

Robin was a loving and dedicated family man. He was exuberant, witty, fun loving, and the life of the party when among family and friends, but relatively shy when around people he didn’t know well.

Robin served in the U S. Army during the Vietnam era, but his duty station was Germany where he was taught to prepare for war. During his time in Germany he had the honor many times of guarding Rudolf Hess in Spandau Prison. He was selected for this duty often because of his attention to always being well groomed. Robin received recognition for his marksman skills and got to fire one of the largest rocket guns available at that time. He liked to prank his buddies late at night by putting his record player in the barracks hall and playing very loudly Ernest Tubbs “Walk Across Texas With You.” He was a proud Texan.

Robin is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years, Linda; their daughter Jennifer; and their son Jason and daughter-in-love Autumn, and grandchildren Colton and Emerald. He is also survived by his brother Rex Thomas, his Aunt Lawana Thomas (who was more like a grandmother than an aunt) and her very loved family, by his nephews James Cook and Brandon Gibson and his niece Nicole Gibson.

Robin was preceded in death by his father Robert Thomas and his mother Geraldine Thomas.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation and services, held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76012 on Thursday, August 24. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am and Memorial Service at 11:30am. A reception to share memories immediately following the services.

A visitation for Robin will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
