Rene Trevino, age 76, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2022. He died with loved ones by his side, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years ago. It was a true show of grit and determination, doing anything possible to gain additional time. Despite the pain involved, he remained strong until the end.
Rene retired in 2020 from Southwest Airlines, after 25 years of service. He served his country in Vietnam, became an avid runner, completing numerous marathons in the process. Rene loved to work in the yard, continuously finding new projects to take on, and never met an animal he didn’t like! His greatest pride were his two grandchildren, Ella and Gavin Trevino.
Rene was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Elena Trevino and his sister Orfalinda Montez.
Rene is survived by his wife of 49 years, Odilia Trevino; son Rene Trevino (Amanda); grandchildren Ella and Gavin Trevino; brother Rey Trevino (Yolanda), sisters Olivia Champion (David) and Oralia T. Rodriguez, and Esther Guerra (Juan).
Rene will be honored at a rosary and memorial service on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 10:00 am at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas 76016, followed by a reception from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
