She was born on November 10, 1949, in Lakeland, Florida to Sarah Rebecca Hefner Tate and Benjamin Adelle Tate. She moved to Texas at an early age and was raised by her mother and stepfather Alvin Ray Parsley, whom she always called "Daddy". She graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1968. She met the love of her life, Perry Edward Carr in the summer of 1965 at Six Flags Over Texas at the Happy Motoring Cars. They were married on July 19th, 1968, and they lived most of their lives in Arlington, Texas.
Together they raised four children. Throughout their marriage, she was blessed with 12 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters whom she loved with all her heart. She worked for AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell Telephone) as an operator for 27 years before retiring in 2008. Rebecca was the kindest, most lovable, caring individual you could ever hope to meet. She truly loved from the bottom of her heart and always wanted to help anybody she met. She loved The Lord and her church family meant the world to her. Family time was important, but spending time with her children and grandchildren was her life. She would often end her conversations with, "Love you to pizzas".
She is survived by her husband Perry E. Carr, son Jordan Ray Carr and wife Maranda, daughters Donna Lee Quarles and husband Charles, Amy Christine Collins, and husband Wiley, and daughter-in-law Shana Carr. Grandchildren: Colton and wife Katie, Baylie, Hayley, Savannah and her husband Chris, Shelbie, James, David, Lane, Noah, Tate, Jaxon, Haley, and two great-granddaughters Stella and Sage. One sister Patricia Hyndman and her husband Allen Hall Sr. Sisters-in-law Kathleen Chapman, Wilma Carr, Doris Henry, one brother-in-law Steve Carr, and a host of other family and friends whom she loved with all her heart. She will truly be loved and missed forever.
Preceded in death by her son Casey Allen Carr, mother Sarah Parsley, father Ben A Tate, step-father Alvin Parsley, father-in-law Perry J Carr, mother-in-law Wanda Carr, and one brother Benny Ray Tate.
A visitation for Rebecca will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
