Michelle Wendell

Michelle Ann Wendell, “Mich”, aged 73 from Arlington, Texas, passed away in the early morning on January 24, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. Michelle was the middle of three daughters born on October 19, 1947 to Warren and Ethel Ann Wendell in Saint Louis, Missouri.

While she never married, nor had biological children or grandchildren of her own, her niece, nephews, and great nieces and nephew easily filled that void for her. Often referred to as “Mommy #2”, Mich expressed her love for her niece and nephews through near daily chats or visits, along with a never ending flow of gifts she would purchase or find around the house that she would deem “just perfect” for her “kids”. When the “kids” became too old, she focused all of her attentions on her great nieces and nephew, whom she adored. As a librarian assistant for many years at Wimbish Elementary, Mich thrived on showing her endless passion for books by helping the young students find their next great read. She also found great joy in her vast collection of teddy bears, family heirlooms, costume jewelry, and researching family history on the internet. She was a devout Catholic and Democrat, as well as a fervent viewer of Days of our Lives and all local sports teams.

Our Mich will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Anne Weydeck of Mansfield, Texas, and her nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces: Peter, Jamie, and Emilia Weydeck of Roanoke, Texas; Clint, Meghan, Gage, and Cecilia Riggin of Trophy Club, Texas; and Ryan and Mandy Weydeck of Fort Worth, Texas.

A memorial service will be held for Michelle, along with her mother, Ethel Ann Wendell, on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made to Arlington ISD Education Foundation in memory of “Michelle Wendell-Wimbish Elementary Library.” Donations can be made at ArlingtonEF.org

Our grief is great, but we rest knowing she is walking proudly with our God. We will always carry such amazing memories of our special Mich forever in our hearts.
