Michael Leonard Dennis

Michael Leonard Dennis, age 61 of Grand Prairie, passed away on August 22, 2017 with his family at his side. He was born on March 6, 1956 in Fukuoka, Japan, the son of Lt. Col. (Ret.) Leonard Dennis and Kathleen Jackson Dennis.

Mike married his high school sweetheart and soul mate Jeri Bowman while proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps. September 2017 would have marked their 42nd year of marriage. After Mike’s military service, his career was spent in Aerospace Manufacturing for over 27 years. Mike loved anything to do with planes and flying and was an avid fisherman, golfer, and skeet shooter, for which he was a national champion at age 17. Mike will be remembered for his sense of humor and smile, both of which will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Mike is survived by: his wife, Jeri; son, Michael W. Dennis (Grand Prairie, TX); daughter, Courtney D. Tucker and son-in-law AJ (Mansfield, TX); grandchildren Colby Kenton, Cassidy Victoria, Cade Anderson, and Carrington Faye; sisters Kathy Dennis (Columbus, OH) and Patty Dennis (Duluth, MN); and aunts Delores Jackson (El Reno, OK) and Geraldine Mozley (Madison, MS); and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of life on Monday, August 28 from 4-8pm at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, Arlington. A time of memories will be shared from 6-7pm. Graveside services will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with USMC Military Honors. A procession will depart from Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home at 11:30am or family and friends may meet at the National Cemetery.
