Mary McKinney died on Jan.17,2015. She was born in McKinney, Texas on March 9,1925 to Henry C. Miller and Grace Cameron Miller. Growing up and into her teens, she took dance lessons, and participated in many recitals wearing elaborate costumes made by her mother. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1942 and received a BA in business from North Texas State U. In 1955 she married H.V.(Shorty) McKinney;he died in 2002. She lived most of her adult life in Dallas and then from 1965 in Arlington. Mary and Shorty loved to entertain, go out with friends and travel. They visited many countries around the world and enjoyed new friendships made with fellow travelers. Mary was a longtime member of the Arlington Womens’ Club and especially enjoyed playing bridge there. Mary is survived by her son, Terry W. Hall of Arlington and his son, Jon Hall. By her daughter, Linda Hall Glass (Frank) of Fairview and their children: Rob Morris (Amy) and their daughters, Ellie and Anna Claire, of Southlake; Stephanie Glass Ernst (Jon) and their sons, Hayden and Caleb, of Dallas; Kathleen Cameron Glass of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are Mary’s brother,Louis C. Miller (Syble) and their children, Covey (Salli) Miller and Mariette Williams, all of McKinney; cousin Margaret Wood (Charles) of Southlake. Burial will be private followed by a visitation memorial and reception at Moore Funeral Home on Sat., Jan 24th between 2 and 4p.m. Moore F.H. is at 1219 N. Davis in Arlington (817-275-2711). The last 8 years of Mary’s life were stolen by Alzheimers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your local organization for Alzheimers research.
