Lynn Howard Eppes, age 78, passed peacefully on March 26, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on October 23, 1946 to Corine Lenore Hines (Clayton) and Chester Alvin Howard. Lynn married Joe “Bubba” Stanley Eppes July 27, 1968 and they have two darling girls, Buffy and Brooke. While Lynn passed in Fort Worth, she and Bubba call Arlington, Texas home which is where many of her greatest memories and accomplishments are remembered.
Lynn fell in love with Bubba and they created a beautiful life together surrounded by many friends. She was always looking to brighten the lives of others with her infectious laugh and contagious smile. Lynn loved her home and was fixated on finding the perfect pieces to complete a room--which often resulted in Bubba taking her shopping to thousands of different places. Lynn could be found picking out beautiful fabrics and making her home gorgeous inside and out. Outside you could find her in the garden obsessed with bringing life to vibrant flowers and plants, and creating gorgeous floral arrangements to fill her vast collection of blue and white vases.
She was incredibly proud of her daughters Buffy and Brooke and was their biggest cheerleader in life. She especially loved listening to Brooke karaoke after she had been out for the evening and loved entertaining Buffy’s big fashion ideas. However, her greatest role in life was being Mimsy to her grandchildren affectionately known as “the Pea Pods” Channy, Coco, and Bowie. Mimsy loved spending time with her Pea Pods. Bubba aka Paps’ fondest memories are watching Mimsy and the Pea Pods baking during the holidays, loudly singing Mamma Mia songs, sending him to the store, and making a complete mess in the kitchen. When they were baking was the only time Mimsy’s house was in disarray and she enjoyed it. Mimsy loved hearing Bowie’s holiday entertainment through his prayers, speeches, and monologues. After Bowie was born, Mimsy became an expert at dinosaur facts. One of Mimsy’s greatest delights was the beach and collecting seashells with the Pea Pods. This became symbolic in all of our lives and memories.
As we mourn Lynn’s loss, we are comforted by her unwavering faith which remains a guiding light in our hearts.
Lynn is survived and missed by her loving husband of 58 years Joe Eppes, daughters Buffy (Blair) Cornell of Arlington, Texas and Brooke (Bo) Fetterhoff of Fort Worth, Texas, grandchildren Channy Cornell, Coco Cornell of Arlington, Texas, and Bowie Royal of Fort Worth, Texas, brother-in-law Sid (Lu) Eppes of Arlington, Texas, sister-in-law Sheila Eppes of Fort Worth, Texas, brother-in-law Ronnie Brock of Fletcher, Oklahoma and leaves behind nieces and nephews.
