Luis Antonio Castillo, Sr.

ARLINGTON- A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church for Luis Antonio Castillo, Sr., who passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30 at Moore Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd. in Arlington. Interment will follow directly after Mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth.

Luis served in the Army Air Force from 1943-1946. His decorations include American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, and Distinguished Unit Badge. He was also of member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church for 50 years and retired from Bell Helicopter after 34 years of service. Luis was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed deeply.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary D. Castillo; son, Luis A. Castillo, Jr.; daughter, Eileen M. Castillo; sister in-law, Catherine Castillo; grandson, Daniel Joseph Castillo; and 26 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose’ Rivas Castillo and Candida Hernandez; brother, Manuel H. Castillo; grandson, Luis Anthony Castillo, III.
