On October 20, 1966, he married his wife of 55 years, Chung Thi Truong, and together they had four children. In December of 1978, the family left Vietnam for Bidong, Malaysia. Then, in January of 1980, they began their journey to American, where they lived in Chicago, Illinois for a year before eventually settling in Texas.
Long lived his life putting his family before himself, dedicating many year to working multiple jobs to ensure that his children would receive a better education and a bright future. He was a very loving person. Though he was a man of few words, his love was felt through his acts of kindness and his presence. His kindness was not limited to his family only, but was also extended to his friends or anyone in need. A man of integrity and compassion for those around him, Long never took advantage of others, but instead would always choose to lend a helping hand.
Long passed away peacefully on the morning on December 12, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife and his four children: Tai, Chau, Du, and Nga, and his ten grandchildren: Dylan, Jaden, Gordon, Sophie, Samantha, Madison, Cassidy, Caden, Nathan, and Kara.
Long will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a kind-hearted man and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
A visitation for Long will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
