Juanita Joan Scott, 89, of Arlington passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. She was born in Bowling Green, KY, on August 15, 1927. At the age of 22, she married the love of her life, Calvin Wendell Scott, on April 1949. Juanita supported Calvin through his schooling and career, and raised their 3 children. She worked for Dillard’s for over ten years, and after retiring, Nita and Cal traveled extensively across the world. She was a devout Christian and brought her grandchildren to Bible study whenever she could. She had a passion for her family, and loved to host holiday dinners in her home.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Scott; her parents, Frank and Stella Cermack; her brothers, Henry, Edgar, and Frank Cermack; and her sister, Grace Mahan. Survivors: Her children, Calvin (Greg), David and Lisa Scott; daughters-in-law, Patti and Jill Scott; her grandchildren, James Scott, Miranda and Matthew Leach, Blake Scott, Nikki Colquitt and Elizabeth Conyers; her great-grandchildren, Leah and Avery; and many nieces and nephews across the country.
A visitation will we held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 14th at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral service in honor or Juanita will be Tuesday August 15 at 10:00 am at the Moore Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment in Moore Memorial Gardens.
