Joseph Claude Godwin Jr

Our beloved Joey went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, June 3, 2016. Joey was born on March 14, 1960 at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas to Sandra L. Bradley and Joseph Claude Godwin Sr. Joey grew up in Fort Worth and Arlington, Texas and graduated from Bowie High School and University of Texas at Arlington. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Theta Omega Chapter. As an alumni he served as a Kappa Sigma advisor at Stephen F. Austin State University. His life-long career was a General Insurance Adjuster and he worked throughout the State of Texas. Most recently he was employed at Kroger in Arlington as a Wine Steward. Joey had two daughters, Victoria Ann Godwin Russell and Katherine Elaine Godwin Wagner who were the bright and precious loves of his life. He is survived by his parents, his daughters and their husbands Kirby Russell and Michael Wagner, their mother Patricia Ann Letter Lacy, granddaughters Kaylin Ann Russell and Lillian Marie Wagner, all of Katy, Texas; step sons: Kevin White of Arlington and Jared White of Katy and their families; brother William Bradford Godwin and wife Lisa of Austin; sister, Jan Rae Finley and husband Craig of Waco; nephew Christopher Matthew Godwin of Surfside, Texas; niece, Brandi Christina Godwin Cote and husband Jordan of Jacksonville, NC. He is also survived by his loyal pets Adolf, Fritz, Myrtle, and Ruby, to whom he was totally devoted. He also loved the many friends he made through work, school, Kappa Sigma and family connections.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cecil Ray Bradley and Flossie Jeanette Bradley Fulton; Valera Imajean Stanley Godwin and Horace Greely Godwin and his uncle Cecil Ray Bradley, Jr. and aunts; Dryal Jeanine Godwin Kennedy and Carolyn Annette Godwin.

The service details are:

Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel, 4216 S. Bowen Road. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel.
