Jaylen and I only talked every now and then and unfortunatly I didnt know him too well.But Jaylen was a wonderful guy that had a smile that could light up a room. If you told a joke he would always laugh, even if it wasnt funny; he'd laugh just so you didnt feel dumb. He was a good person and a wonderful guy to know. I only had a short time to get to know Jaylen when he moved to Hale Center last year, but his spirit for live filled the room.  I am going to miss him and his smile.  One of the best memories I will keep is our love for Duke basketball.  During the season we talked Duke nearly everyday.  My prayers go to all the family and friends during this difficult time.

I cannot believe I and Mikaela were the very last people who ever spoke or saw Jaylen Vincent Roberts before his tragic passing. I never suspected he would go so young. To my second family, know that my prayers go out to you. Jaylen meant so much to so many, and he will never be forgotten, not even for a minute. I remember growing up with him, being so close, he was more than a family friend, he was my brother. I remember our trip to Disney, when he sang every word to "Hotdog" from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I remember him and those socks, that had to tell him which foot to put them on. That laugh, when he laughed at me for putting him on mute, every thirty seconds, just those phone calls. I remember when he tripped me running to get the Santa Hat back from him. I remember when mom gave us a $10 spending limit, and he bought me a $20 Pooh Bear. I remember so much, and I won't ever let those memories fade. I miss him dearly, as I know we all do. But like everyone has told me..  Jaylen is in a better place, he is smiling down on us. He is our sun, our stars, our wind, he is all around. He is happy as ever. This isn't goodbye, it's a "see you later" . Remember you always have those memories, you always have us. I saw Jaylen as a big brother. I would go to him and he would come to me if i need a hug or just some one to talk to, he would do the same. I knew Jaylen from head to toe. He was one of our class clowns. He had the pretties smile ever. Jaylen would always talk about his girlfriend(Arianna). "She is the finest girl ever" Is what he told me. He was always helping someone in need, he didn't care if he had different problems of his own. Jay-baby class and hanging out won't be the same anymore. You were loved and you will be missed by so many people. Your story has touched me hurt so much Jaylen! Well your in the hand of the Lord.
