James Curtis Singleton, 68, passed away Thursday May 5, 2016. There will be a viewing 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday May 12, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home on North Davis in Arlington. Directly after there will be a Celebration of life service beginning at 7:00pm.
Jim was born in Soper Oklahoma at home to Morris Singleton and Beulah McGee on January 27, 1948. The Singleton family moved several times throughout Jim’s childhood, having him attend 13 different schools. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1966 and then went on to road construction following in his Fathers’ trade. A few years later he enlisted in the Army and served 3 years as an MP in Vietnam. He moved to Arlington TX soon after his honorable discharge to begin his 42.6 year employment with General Motors. He finished his career there as a Team Leader in Heavy Repair when he retired June 1, 2014.
In his free time he loved hunting in the beautiful mountains of Colorado and believed he would return again and again. He loved traveling, nature, hiking and camping.
He just celebrated 27 years of marriage to Leanne Gilman Singleton. He is survived by their two children; David Singleton 26, and April Singleton 22. Jim is also survived by his elder sisters Fay Anderson, her son Shawn Anderson, and other sister Betty Singleton.
James was a loyal husband, loving father and provider. He’s was a gentle sole, which all who knew him liked. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and love ones.
