Holly was born January 12, 1957, to Donald Beran and Mavis Beran (Holle) in O’Dell, NE. After high school, she went on to obtain her associate’s degree in nursing from Fairbury Junior College, and later obtained her bachelor’s in nursing. In 1986, she married her husband of 34 years, David Buchanan.
Together, they enjoyed hunting and traveling, often frequenting Jamaica. She took great pride in her career in nursing, working as a NICU nurse and assisting in the first open-heart surgery with robotic transplant. Holly enjoyed playing the piano, loved reading magazines on the topics of cooking, traveling and fashion, and she absolutely loved cats, especially her Maine Coon cat.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Mavis Beran, and her husband, David Buchanan. She is survived by her sister, Cindy Schlattmann of Lincoln, NE, niece, Jill Riese of Lincoln, NE and nephew, Brian Schlattmann of Omaha, NE.
A graveside service for Holly will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Hawkins Cemetery, U.S. 287 Frontage Rd, Arlington, TX 76017.
