Harold Yablon

Harold Yablon, born on October 15th, 1933, spent his childhood in a lively Italian-Jewish neighborhood in the Bronx, New York. The street games of stick-ball and the spectacle of Yankees games colored his formative years—it was a golden time to be a kid.

Harold pursued his education at MaComb’s Jr. High School, graduating in 1948, before moving on to Dwight D Clinton High School and completing his high school education in 1951. His academic journey continued at George Washington University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1956.

Motivated by patriotism, Harold joined the United States Army shortly after college in 1956. He served honorably in the 2nd medium tank battalion (Patton), 1st Cavalry 3rd Armored Division (Spearhead), underpinning his profound and fierce love for his country.

After his honorable discharge in 1958, Harold embarked on a new chapter in his life. In the spring of that year, the L-rd guided his footsteps to the "Enchantment Under the Sea Dance" at the Washington, D.C. Jewish Community Center. There he met Helen, his future Bashert (G-d’s intended). Love struck instantly, leading to their marriage a year later. They were blessed with three children during their early years together, with a fourth arriving after their move to Miami, Florida.

The family's final relocation happened in the mid-70s, when they settled in Grand Prairie, Texas. There, Harold dedicated almost five decades of his life to the floral industry, building relationships and friendships that endured until his last days. Harold never missed an opportunity to uplift spirits or pray with his customers. Although his physical strength might have waned, his spirit remained invincible.

An elder at Sukkot Shalom, Messianic Congregation in Arlington, Texas, Harold took great pleasure in reading and studying the Bible. He was passionate about sharing the love of G-d and honoring His name.

It is said that when Harold departed this earthly life to join the Lord, he graduated with honors—an apt reflection of a life lived to the fullest.

A graveside service for Harold will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Following the graveside service will be a memorial service from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
