Harold R. Daniel, 86, a 10th Mountain Division World War II veteran serving in Italy, and Purple Heart recipient, died peacefully at his home Saturday, May 26, 2012, after fighting the tragedy of Alzheimer's disease.
Harold was born in Itasca in 1926 to his parents, Gay and Violet. He graduated from Itasca High School in 1944. He retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years. He was married to the love of his life, Faye, for over 60 years. He was a caring husband and father and was loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, GF.
Survivors: Wife, Faye; daughter, Betty and Howard Smith; son, Harold and Cynthia; brothers, Lynn, Glenn; sister-in-law, Mary Catherine; grandchildren, Jason and Amber Matthews, Andrea, Clint and wife, Rebekah, Matt and wife, Leslie; nephew, Ronnie and wife, Judy; nieces, Susan Strickland, Dee Ann and husband, Brett Barns; and six great-grandchildren.
