Foy "Bud" Lee Wilson

Foy “Bud” Lee Wilson of Fort Worth, passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 93.. He was born on April 17, 1929 in Wise County, Texas, the son of James William Wilson and Mattie Pearl Pearson Wilson. Bud married Billie Wanda Moorhead and they celebrated 42 years of marriage together before her passing in 1990.

Bud was a dedicated and lifelong worker who acquired many skills throughout his years. He worked in the Stockyards in the late 1940’s, then worked as a machinist for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. He then became a self-employed construction contractor, retiring in 2008 at the age of 79, after 50 years of service.

After retirement, Bud enjoyed woodworking, metal art fabrication, including yard art. He had a creative imagination, which allowed him to be an amazing inventor, reengineering almost everything to his specifications. He was a lifelong gardener and reader of 1000’s of western novels. He was a true Cowboy and gentleman, from the top of his Stetson Cowboy Hat down to the tip of his Justin Boots. His greatest time spent was with his family, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Bud is survived by his children Kathy L. Prater and husband Jimmy, Jerry G Wilson and wife Pat, and Donna K. Kirkpatrick and husband Kevin, daughter-in-law Donna Wilson; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren; two siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Billie, son Johnny L. Wilson, and seven siblings.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, Arlington. Graveside service will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale.

Serving as pallbearers are Hudson Howell, Larry Howell, Johnny Wilson, Jr., Justin Maddux, KJ Kirkpatrick and Shane O'Rourke.
