Elijah Burnett Snow passed away unexpectedly on July 19 at the age of 35. He was born on August 30, 1985, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ronny and Alecia Snow. Elijah was baptized in Christ at the age of 6 at Tate Spring Baptist Church. He grew up in Arlington, TX and loved to play soccer and spend time with his family and friends. From a young age Elijah knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and serve as a firefighter. After graduating from Tarleton State University in 2010 with a nursing degree, Elijah pursued his dream and was hired on by the Arlington Fire Department. He proudly served as an Apparatus Operator for the AFD with some of the finest men in the state. Elijah was brave beyond words and committed to his firefighter family and serving the citizens of Arlington.
Elijah’s dedication reached far beyond his firefighter family. In 2006 he met a girl named Jamie and everything he knew about life and love would be forever changed. They were more than best friends. Their love for each other was immense and was evident in the way they looked at each other. He married the love of his life, Jamie, on June 4, 2011, and their love story flourished. The bond between them was a perfect combination of joy, passion, and support. This dynamic duo epitomized true love. Jamie often says, “Everyone needs an Elijah” because everyone deserves the elation of finding their soul mate.
Elijah gained an even bigger role in 2015 when he and Jamie welcomed their first daughter, Aubrey, into the world. He was instantly wrapped around her little finger and took the title of Daddy very seriously. He was blessed with a second daughter, Hannah, in 2016. This new addition completed the perfect family of fun! Elijah perfected the balance of calm and chaos. He was always smiling and wanted others to share in the excitement. He could be found on the sidelines of soccer games, gymnastics meets, and swimming lessons cheering on his girls. Elijah was beyond proud of his amazing daughters. This feeling was reciprocated: he was the whole world to all of his girls. He would do anything for them and would stop at no cost to make sure they were happy.
Though his time was cut short, his life was an adventure and he loved every second of it. His kindness, devotion, wittiness, and ambition will live on through his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jamie, daughters Aubrey and Hannah, his mother Alecia, Step-father David and his wife Desiree, mother and father in-law Cheryl and Randy, grandparents Joe and Jean, siblings Garrett and his wife Chrissy, Jamilyn and her husband Nick, and Kelsee and her husband Jeremy, his nieces and nephews, Payton, Noah, Zoey, Lily, Loralei, Mason, Jackson, Randy, and Emily, his best friend Chris, the most wonderful neighbors , and his fellow firefighters at Station 9 and throughout the AFD. He is preceded in death by his father, fallen AFD firefighter, Ronny and his grandparents, Billie, Frank and Helen.
“I love you more than I did yesterday, but not as much as I’ll love you tomorrow.”
