Dan M. Khanna, 78, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife on June 27, 2024. Born in New Delhi, India on June 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Din Diyal and Krishna Kumari (Puri) Khanna.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Allison Gehring-Khanna; dog, Plato; daughter, Pooja Lagos; sons-in law, Joe Lagos and Jonathan Lagos; granddaughters, Jasmine and Jianna Lagos; stepson, Stephen Chenault; daughter-in-law, Callie Chenault; grandkids, Marcus and Steelie Chenault; stepson, Austin Chenault; sister, Sumedha Khanna; and other friends and family.
Dan was an engineer, tenured professor, CEO/entrepreneur but most importantly a philosopher, amazing cook, writer, loving father and grandfather. His passion was music, avid reading, story-telling, traveling and experiencing new things. His passion for education and teaching others was instrumental and he has made an impact on so many. He believed you should live a life doing what you love. Dan's legacy is his love for James Bond and this movie quote resonates perfectly with his life: "The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to this GoFundMe link: https://tinyurl.com/4wrvy2ev that will support Jiu Jitsu for kids in Texas as he has supported his granddaughters in their journey.
