Corn Corn was born in rural Hot Springs County Arkansas on June 17, 1938.
Cornice was the third of five children born to Kiah and Chester.
Raised on a farm. The only things that were plentiful were love and hard work.
The summers were spent shoeless, working the fields and off on high adventure throughout the woodlands
Winters were spent bundled around the stove and under handmade quilts.
From the Arkansas sand grew a boy into a man.
From puppy dog tails into spit and vinegar, Wayne was ready to sow his oats and see the world.
Off into the wild blue yonder he rode on wings of Air Force silver.
Waiting for him in a West Texas town was his future. On the way he would stop into Guam and Johnson Island.
Waiting for Wayne in the west Texas town of Abilene was Cynthia.
From the moment their paths crossed, God’s plan was sealed and their destinies determined.
Tall and handsome, cool in his green and white 54’ ford coup. The mysterious young airman from Arkansas was a dream. The Majorette and the Airman began a romance that would last a life time.
Wayne and Cynthia had three sons. Larry, Michael, and Kenneth.
As we grew, we were never hungry, never without clothes, and never without love.
It was only after we were grown did any of us realize the sacrifice that Dad made in his life and with his desires to provide for his family. With Dad it was always about the family, never did he choose himself first.
Children are a heritage from the Lord and Grandchildren are a crown.
Papa loved his grandchildren. He considered each one as a gift from the Lord and cherished and loved each.
His seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren blessed his life with joy and happiness.
From the Arkansas farmland to across the nation the kids of Kiah and Chester married, raised children, worked, retired, played with their grandchildren and wait on the coming of the Lord.
The Airman and the Majorette, settled in North Texas. Three children, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren bless their home.
Corn-Corn grew into Tom, and then into Wayne. Wayne become Darling and then Dad, and later on Papa.
Wayne served his Country, his Wife, his Children, and the Lord.
A life lived to full measure. Filled with Happiness and Joy.
