Richard Eugene Rice

Richard E. Rice was born February 18, 1936, in Humboldt County, Iowa to David and Irene (née Klasse) Rice, he died peacefully on Friday, December 9th in Glenview. He worked in the grocery business for over 40 years, mostly at Treasure Island Foods.

Richard is preceded in death by the love of his life, the late Grace (nee Germanier) who he met at a Cubs game as teenagers and married in 1958 in Chicago. He is also preceded by his son David.

He was the loving father of Denise (James) Burns, Dennis (Debbie), Donald (Kathy), Dianne (John) Sprenger and daughter-in-law Roseann; cherished grandfather of Samantha (Michael) Manning, Timothy Rice, Meagen, and Mathew Coon, Daniel (Suzanne), and Jenny (Tyler Holfeld) Rice, Katie (Malcolm) Coleman, Kristen (Will) Cawthorne, Ryan (Kelley), Bradley, and Shaun Rice, Anna, Andrew, and Abby Sprenger; dear great grandfather of Nathan, David, Evan, LilliAnn, Eleanor, Charlotte, Addison, James, Emmy and Jack.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm, Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights and and from 9 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment will be at St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery.
