Norman V. Smith, 88 of Arlington Heights was born March 5, 1929 in Chicago to Vester and Rose Smith (nee Stoll) and passed away January 5, 2018. Norman was the beloved husband of the late Rose M. (nee Matlak) Smith; loving father of Raymond (Joann) Smith and Sharon Koeneman; cherished grandfather of Amber (Phil) Kapocius, Cascade (Chelsea) Smith, Joshua (Amy) Koeneman, Saliesh (Kurt) Porter, Shane (Andi) Koeneman, Sylvan (Chantal) Smith, Sadie Barrett, Jessica Thomas, Matthew Barrett and the late Peter Barrett; great-grandfather of Chris, Grace, Tyler, Jaiden, Hailey, Ryan, Gage, Kamilie, Paige, Sydney, Kezra, Kayden and Kacia and great-great-grandfather of Finley; dear uncle of Joanna (Don) Krok and Ron (Sandi) Brankey and wonderful brother-in-law of Camille Matlak. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 3-8PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, January 12 at 10:15 AM and proceed to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
