I’m so sorry to hear about Miriam’s passing. I remember the first time I met her. She and Dick came to Upstate New York for the 1980 Winter Olympics. They wore these masks to keep themselves warm that looked like pig masks. I remember thinking “who is this silly woman in a pig mask”? We had a great time then and at all the family reunions after that. I am so glad I got to know her better after moving here. She was such a kind and considerate woman.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Miriam's passing. She was a grandmother to me, and some of my fondest childhood memories are with her and Grandpa. I remember spending time at her home in Florida, where we would do various art projects together. She also hosted the best birthday party I've ever had, complete with a real monkey! At her Northfield home, we would stroll through her beautiful garden in the summer, and I loved sitting in the family room listening to Grandpa play the trumpet while Uncle John played the piano. I will always cherish Christmas celebrations at their lovely home. We love Miriam dearly and will miss her greatly.

I am so sorry to hear of Miriams passing. I have decades of loving memories of her including family vacations, Lewis family reunions & holidays as do my children who remember her as a caring & vibrant grandmother. Miriam had a great eye for anything artistic from décor to gardening, including always having the best decorated golf cart for the Easter parade! Miriam was a great partner to my father both in marriage & business. She was an important part of the whole Lewis family for decades. She had such a close bond with her sisters, who I am sure have been leaning on each other through these difficult times.

I’m so sorry to hear of Miriam’s passing. I will always have very fond memories at Lewis Paper when she and Dick would come in. Always happy to be around her. She will be missed.

Miriam was an extremely classy and cultured individual.

Miriam was my sister in law.  She was so graceful in welcoming me into the family. That meant a lot to me.  She was a very giving person and because of her kindness I will miss her very much.

Dear Miriam, dear Yvonne and Lydia,
In my younger years, you were an important family to my mother and me. We often came to visit and I have stayed with you many times (I remember a red beetle to play with, the piano and the bay window). When I am around, I always look up in the Pieter van de Doesstraat. Sinterklaas and New Year's Eve were highlights, with the surprises of the ladies and the fireworks.
Later you have moved far away, too far for a visit, especially since I have been active in aviation activism in the Netherlands and Europe since decades.
But I am always happy with the little contact we still have. Email is not the easiest medium to communicate with each other, but we are a generation apart in technical terms (although I did get my 89-year-old neighbor to use a smartphone and she now uses it frequently and gratefully). But of course it's about Miriam: she faithfully sent me a birthday card for years and the fact that that flow dried up was probably a harbinger of forgetting. I regret that she had to spend her last years this way and I am grateful that you were always close to her.
Also on behalf of Fieke, I wish you much strength and peace in the coming time.
