

James was born in Chicago on November 17, 1943, to parents John and Vivian (nee Sekenski) Bruckman.
He met Bernadine Koziol at a work event and the couple were married on June 7, 1969. They were happily married for 52 years until her death on November 19, 2021.
James was a proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Army, and he diligently served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he went on to become the Vice President of Chapter 311 Vietnam Veterans Association where he faithfully supported his fellow veterans.
James loved his children and was very family-oriented, taking them to museums, the zoo, Navy Pier, and family vacations to Walt Disney World and Cedar Point. He enjoyed model trains and spent countless hours in his garden. He also enjoyed sports, including bowling and fishing, and loved the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
James was a wonderful husband and father who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
James is survived by his children, Timothy (Barbara Bonno) Bruckman, Jeremy Bruckman, Kimberly (Nicholas) Brizzolara, and Ashley Bruckman, his granddaughter, Lucia, and his sister Sharon (Linus) Zinthefer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Bernadine Bruckman.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 12 noon to time of Funeral 4 p.m. all at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
