Helen G. Hahn

Helen G. Hahn was born Oct. 3, 1922, to William and Olga Ankele, in Barrington, Ill. Helen passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fredrick; and brothers, Harold, Warren and Edward Ankele. She is survived by her brother, William D. Ankele (Helga) of Odessa, Fla.; her sons, Thomas of Arlington Heights, Steven of Elgin, Fredrick (Deborah) of Springfield, John (Catherine) of Algonquin and daughters, Cynthia of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Pamela Lohan of Boca Raton, Fla. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Helen moved to Arlington Heights in 1958 and worked at the Daily Herald (1969-1999). Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed the sun, spending time with her family and doing her puzzles. She was kind to everyone she met and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be on Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Services will be on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
