Helen Irene Danielson 94, of Arlington Heights, and formerly of Iowa and Des Plaines. Helen was born on November 2, 1929 to the late Harold and Bertha Dozois. She passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Glen Danielson; loving mother of Bill (Kim) Danielson, Morris (Julie) Danielson and Kurt (Kim) Danielson; devoted grandmother of Kyle (Erin) Danielson, Meghan (Jonathan) Haller, Jim Danielson, Jeff Danielson, Peter Danielson, Quinn Danielson, Andrew Danielson, Christina Danielson and Nicole Danielson; caring great-grandmother of Clara and Willa Danielson and Sebastian Haller; and dear sister of the late Charles Dozois.
Helen was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1952, where she and her husband met. Helen and Glen would eventually settle in Des Plaines in 1960, where their family would live for over 40 years. Helen was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, where she participated in women services and bible study for more than 50 years. Being part of the faith community at Trinity Lutheran Church helped her grow in her own faith. Helen had many hobbies which included knitting, crocheting, reading, and traveling with her husband Glen and children. After Glen passed, she continued her travels with the many friends she met. Helen lived at Church Creek in Arlington Heights for the last 2.5 years of her life, where her faith journey continued with Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
Visitation Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 3-5pm at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, located at 2000 E. Northwest Hwy in Arlington Heights, IL. 60004. Visitation and funeral services will take place Monday, April 29, 2024 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Rd in Arlington Heights Il. 60004, with visitation at 9am until the time of service at 10am. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
