She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Anne Glidewell; and sister, Marilyn Anne McLane-Herring.
Tracie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Gary Eldridge; two sons, Wayne Eldridge (Sarah) of Thomasville, NC, Michael Eldridge (Ashley) of Philadelphia, PA; a niece and nephew (whom she raised following the death of their mother,) Brendon Herring and Caroline Barnes of Birmingham, AL, Rachel Rigter (Joseph) of Sanford, NC; other nieces and nephews, Eric McLane, Paige Huie (Joshua) of King, NC., Thomas Cross (Natalie), and Marissa Eldridge; grandchildren, Gia and Vincent Eldridge of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Kenneth Eldridge (Terry) of High Point, NC., sister-in-law Rose Cross (Greg Pearson) of Sophia, NC; and aunt, Joanne Sowell (Ernie).
Tracie was born May 21, 1964, in Port Hueneme, CA. As a child, she moved several times due to her father’s career in the Navy. She grew up in Mississippi and North Carolina, graduating from Southwest Guilford High School in 1982.
She was a driven professional with an unmatched work ethic. Her professional career began at Norton, she later worked at Carborundum, 3M Company, and most recently, Allied Foam. She remained dedicated to her job at Allied Foam and optimistic that she would beat her cancer. Tracie remained brave and fought until the very end.
Tracie never met a stranger and always treated everyone as though they were special and put everyone else before herself. While here, her radiant smile lighted the world, and now that smile will light the heavens. She refused to allow anyone to be sad. She found the positive in every negative. She was a Loyal Cowboys fan. Tracie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend.
She lived a good life and had no regrets. Her greatest achievements were her two sons, and she supported them in all they did. She was known as the crazy grandma to her grandchildren and cherished all her time with them. She was always there for all of her family.
