Karen was born in High Point, NC on December 5, 1954, where she spent most of her life. She graduated from High Point Central High School, and retired from Thompson Arthur Paving. Karen enjoyed softball, music, cars and was an avid Carolina Tarheel fan. She was a loving sister, daughter and friend, and dearly loved her nieces, nephews and her dogs. She had a heart for animals and rescued many fur babies. She was a member of Faith and Victory Ministries.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandmother, Grace Grady; grandfather, Claude Hoover; mother and step father, Nancy Hoover Tysinger and Jesse Tysinger; father Woodrow Sloan; cousin, Brian Hoover and nephews, Robert Clint Campbell and Paul Peterson.
Surviving are Justin Bryant; sisters Tonya Tysinger Johnson (Dwight) and Tracie Tysinger Garland (Mark); Nieces and nephews, Cade Johnson (Jesette), Kylie Foster (Jay), Jatie Garland, Jesse Johnson, Jake Johnson (Ivey),and Jackson Garland; great nieces and nephews, Camden Cash Campbell, Porter Watson, Finley McGarvey, Alex Foster, Aubrey Foster, Jade Johnson, Vallie Foster; and her uncle and aunt, Clyde and Ruth Ann Hoover.
A Celebration of Karen's Life will be Tuesday, May 30th at 12 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremations-Archdale, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
