Terrence "Duke" Demeatric Moore

Terrence Demeatric Moore “Duke” passed away surrounded by his family on March 22, 2025 at the age of 47. He was born in Greensboro, Alabama on January 19, 1978 to Lorenzo Moore and Savannah Taylor Moore.

He attended Rowland High School and graduated in 1996 before continuing his education at Chaffey Junior College and then Cal State University Bakersfield. Terrence worked in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was held in high regard by his patients and coworkers.

Terrence met and married Tracy Szobonya. They were together for 26 years and spent the majority of their union in Apple Valley, CA with their three sons.

He was a man of unwavering love, courage, and selflessness–dedicating his life to his family and community. Terrence was a devoted husband, dedicated father, loving son, brother, and uncle, as well as a true friend to many. He left an impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and larger-than-life presence made the world a better place.

Terrence was the true embodiment of a protector and the foundation of his family. He took immense pride in caring for his family as the primary provider, working tirelessly to ensure they never went without. Whether he was tending to his yard, caring for his dogs, or extending a helping hand to those in need, he approached everything with honesty, strength, and determination.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Lorenzo Moore and his grandparents, Arthur Lomax, Essie Moore, and Ethel Taylor-Rhone.

Terrence is survived by his wife, Tracy Moore; their three sons, Jaylen Moore, Jordan Moore, and Julian Moore; his mother, Savannah Moore, his three sisters; Trinetta Moore, Tamesha Moss, and Sarah Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Linda Szobonya and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on April 14th at 3:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Both will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary in Apple Valley, CA.
